How the labyrinth filter works?
Labyrinth filters exploit centrifugal force to extract grease particles. When grease-laden air enters the labyrinth filter, it is forced to transform its path into a series of cyclones.
The grease particles in the rotating streams have too much inertia to follow a cyclonic curve of the stream. As a result, the particles strike inner walls of filter channels and stick to the filter structure which slides them towards an oil and grease collection tray. This is located in the lower part of the hood, which is equipped with easy extraction for emptying and cleaning later.
What are the advantages of labyrinth filters?
The filtration of suspended solids from the labyrinth filters keeps the interior of the hood cleaner. This, in certain circumstances, lowers the risk of fire.
Secondly, it significantly reduces the need for regular maintenance and cleaning. The filtration of such fatty particles, by preventing the strong corrosive and destructive effects of fatty acids, increases the life of the internal parts of the range hood, such as the motor, wiring, switching tools, lamp holders, lamps, as well as the hood body itself.
